Drowning apathetic
As rain pours, I let it flow into my lungs. It burns as it seeps through my skin and it claims my breath, and I shake as I drown. My heart swishes and clicks in the cloud's tears and I bathe it with what I cannot shed. It refuses to feel anything but the cold the rain brings, and winter’s frost surrounds me, freezing time. I gaze into the gray clouds, my mind vacant. Apathy remains as the light leaves my eyes, and I wait for fallen angels to claim me back home.
